Louis Zoo : Enjoying an adventure every

Shaw Nature
Reserve : The Shaw Nature Reserve, a division
of the Missouri Botanical Garden, encompasses
2,400 acres of natural Ozark Border landscape,
with 1.5 miles of Meramec River frontage on both
banks and an extraordinary diversity of native
plant and animal habitats. Located 35 miles southwest
of St. Louis in Gray Summit, Mo., it strives to
inspire responsible stewardship of our environment
through education, protection and restoration
of natural habitats, and public enjoyment of the
natural world. Staff work closely with the Missouri
Department of Conservation to promote native plants
and encourage their use in sustainable and environmentally-friendly
gardens and landscapes. |

Missouri Botanical Garden
: The garden was established in 1999, under
Chancellor Richard Wallace as part of the campus
beautification efforts. August of 2009 marks the
10th anniversary of the Mizzou Botanic Garden.
Since its inception, the garden has become a living
museum of thousands of plants displayed amongst
famous icons, such as Jefferson's original grave
marker and the Columns of Academic Hall. The garden
continues to delight campus visitors with its
beauty and ;serves as a fertile academic environment
for educators, researchers and students. |

Purina
Farms : Purina Farms is a tourist center
with two canine competition areas. Hands-on activities
and exhibits showcase obedience shows and grooming
demonstrations. Children can pet Purina's own
dogs and cats, milk a cow, and play in the hayloft. |
